GINANAP na ang 70th Emmy Awards sa Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California.
Ang mga host ay ang Saturday Night Live comedians na sina Colin Jost at Michael Che.
Star-studded ang naturang event na tinatawag na “television’s biggest night”.

Kabilang sa mga highlights ng Emmy ay ang nabigyan ng standing ovation ang 8-time Emmy winner na si Betty White. At 96 years old ay aktibo pa sa paglabas sa TV at pelikula ang veteran actress.

After 42 years, nagwagi ng kanyang first Emmy award si Henry Winkler. Nakilala si Winkler bilang The Fonz sa ‘70s series na Happy Days. Huling na-nominate si Winkler for an Emmy was in 1979.

Nagkaroon naman live na wedding proposal sa entablado ng Emmy. Nag-propose ang TV director na si Glenn Weiss sa kanyang longtime girlfriend pagkatapos niyang tanggapin ang award niya for Outstanding Director of a Variety Special for the 2018 Academy Awards.

Nasa audience naman ang author ng Game of Thrones na si George R.R. Martin at umakyat ito sa stage with the whole cast noong manalo ang show as Outstanding Drama Series.

This year ay ang pagiging diverse ng Emmy Awards ang naging theme. Actors of different ethnicity ay nakakuha ng nomination at nanalo sa iba’t ibang categories.
For the first time ay isang may dugong Pinoy ang nanalo ng Emmy Award. Ito ay ang Fil-American na si Darren Criss na nanalo as Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series for The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story kunsaan ginagampanan niya ang Fil-Am serial killer na si Andrew Cunanan.

Unang nakilala si Darren sa hit musical TV series na Glee.

First Asian actress naman si Sandra Oh na ma-nominate sa Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for Killing Eve. Kilala si Sandra sa paglabas niya sa series na Grey’s Anatomy.
