On its sixth year, the 6th MTRCB Family and Child Summit (FCS 6) will finally hold its annual event in Visayas and Mindanao for the first time. The theme for this year is “Cebu and its Place in Philippine Cinema History.”
The Summit features the centennial celebration of the One-hundredth (100th) year of Philippine Cinema and the invaluable contribution of the Cebuano Film Industry in molding the landscape of Philippine Cinema.
Influential personalities from the film and television industries; the youth sector; the students and teachers; the media; as well as partner government agencies and private organizations will gather on 10 August 2018 from 09:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m. at the Social Hall, Cebu Provincial Capitol. (Registration starts at 08:00 a.m.)
Nearly a thousand (1000) students, academicians, and media practitioners will gather at FCS 6. The Summit will be highlighted by lectures and panel discussions from renowned resource speakers. Among them are Queen of Visayan Movies and MTRCB Board Member Ms. Gloria Sevilla; Illustrious Professor Nick Deocampo; and Eminent Professor and Director Jose Javier Reyes.
Participants of FCS 6 will likewise be treated to a free film showing of the proudly Cebuano-made, Victor Villanueva-megged dark comedy film and Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP) 2017 entry, Patay na si Hesus. A panel discussion on the film will follow after the screening.
