AMAZON Studios unveiled the first trailer of Suspiria yesterday. It’s a remake of the Italian director Dario Argento’s 1977 horror classic.
The new Suspiria was directed by Luca Guadagnino (Call Me By Your Name), and top billed by Dakota Johnson (Fifty Shades of Grey, The Social Network) and Tilda Swinton (Doctor Strane, Only Lovers Left Alive). Also starring Mia Goth (A Cure for Wellness), Chloe Grace Moretz (Let Me In) and Jessica Harper, who played the main protagonist, Suzy Bannion, in the original flick.
In the original, Suzy Bannion is an American student who went to a prestigious ballet academy in Europe. She doesn’t realize that the school is a front for something sinister amid a series of grisly murders.
Most people who saw the trailer noticed the darker and duller tone of the color compare to the original which the colors are vivid and saturated. Yet, it captures the vibe and the creepiness of the original.
Suspiria is due for release on November 2nd in the US. No official announcement yet for its Philippine release.
